AR - How do I create a credit memo using standard memo lines?

  1. Navigate to the Transactions window
  1. The ‘Source’ defaults in based on your username

  2. Select ‘Credit Memo’ from the list in the ‘Class’ field

  3. Select the suitable transaction type from the LOV

  4. Type in the customer number or name in the ‘Bill To’ section

  5. Click on the ‘More’ tab and type in the purchase order number

  6. Click into the ‘Special instructions’ field and choose a pre-defined instruction or type in your own

  7. Click on the ‘Reference Information’ tab and select the suitable reason in the ‘Reason’ field

  8. Click the ‘Line items’ button

  9. Select the suitable description from the LOV in the ‘Description’ field

  1. In the ‘Quantity’ field, type in the quantity to credit – preceded by a negative (-)

  2. The unit price and tax code should be automatically populated

  3. Click on the ‘Distribution’ button

  4. Choose the correct Activity and IE codes from the LOV

  5. Click OK

  6. Close the Distributions window

  7. Close the Lines screen

  8. Make a note of the credit memo number

  9. Inform your authoriser of the number and make sure they authorise (complete) it
